MY WONDERFUL TRIP!
WHEE.
I finally get to blog about Malaysia '06. It was really great, as you shall soon see:
9 DecemberArrived in Malaysia, my grandma's house! Was rather tired after arriving, and had an early night.
10 December
My brother, Erika, Rong Jiin (cousins), and I went shopping with Aunt Kat at Lot 10. It was pretty cool, because there was a choir performing christmas carols, along with a trio of tenors (they are called tenors for christ). The tenors were GOOD! But the choir tended to go out of pitch (which I noted with a scary precision).
I bought cranberry soap (for Aunt Kat) and peppermint foot gel for mom at the Body Shop, and went home RM 32.50 poorer, which isn't much either, considering my propensity for spending. Oh you'll see later why :D
11 December
Today we (mom, grandma, and myself) walked to Jaya Jusco, which is a mall pretty near our house. Bought an eyeshadow palette in neutrals from Watson, an oriental looking hair barette, a brown pendant which looks lovely! from Sinma and some presents too (shh...)
Oh and this was the day I got "lost". How did it happen? Well my mom went off to the stationery section, and I was supposed to be in the music section. After a while of browsing CD racks, I went into MPH and bought a few notebooks (presents again!). I walked out an hour later, RM 10 poorer (not very poor lah, considering the 2.3 exchange rate). Looked around for a bit to find mom, but somehow, she wasn't anywhere. o.0 I didn't panic, though. Nonchalantly, I wandered around the aisles of the stationary section... Suddenly, I heard a sharp "Rachel!" I turned around, and found my mom looking worriedly at me.
Apparently, she requested the customer service counter people to make 4 announcements for the lost "Rachel"...! Well, I certainly got her worried. She was scolding me all the way home =/
12 December
Went shopping at Lot 10 and Sungei Wang with mom and grandma! Gosh on this shopping trip I bought a fair bit: bracelet, hair clips, this UBER COOL RETRO RED SKIRT (gahh i should post photos another time!), a black shirt and 2 tubes.
13 December
Once again, off to Jusco mom and I trooped. Bought photo frames (presents), a cute red clock (for my new room) and more presents (shh). A rather uneventful day, I'm afraid.
14 December
KLCC, with mom and aunt. Today was the earring day! I went to Chameleon and bought 3 pairs of earrings going very, very cheaply. I still can't believe how RM 2.50 can get you a pair of earrings. That's like S$ 1.25! Which can hardly get you a decent pair of earrings, so. I wanted more earrings! But sadly, the amount of money I had (or lack of money), deterred me. Good thing, because later in the day, my aunt bought my 3 MNG shirts for RM 50 each! Cool, ain't it. Normally I wouldn't buy MNG, but since there was a sale (up to 70% off, mind you), I bought stuff.
I saw a love-ly pair of black lace peach pumps, but they were RM 55.90 and there was only size 3.5. Quite a pity! I would have bought it if not for my mom.
15 December
Helped Aunt Kat with her choir songs (I can sight read and sight sing). Later in the evening, she had to go for her church musical rehearsal, so I tagged along! The lady who acted as Mary sang and danced really beautifully. Not to mention, she is rather pretty! Apparently, she has a ballet school.
And one of the backstage crew was this cute, rather tall guy. He kept running around shifting props and stuff. Hee. There was another cute guy who acted as an angel/shepherd. He was hilarious! A natural actor, at that. I found some of the actors a tad contrived though. I adored the costumes and props, though. Everything was done up rather elaborately, but not excessively, so it was great.
There were some really strong singers in the choir, and they saved the hallelujah chorus at the end! (Hallelujah chorus from the Messiah, by Handel)
16 DecemberFinally, I went shopping with Jocelyn (cousin), my wonderful shopping partner! We trawled Sungei Wang and saw the black lace pumps at Vincci again. Hee, my taste, as usual, is impeccable, as evidenced by the fact that she loved the pumps too. Size 3.5 popped up again, and somehow, I was convinced to buy it. <333 If anyone asks me on a date/appointment, I shall wear them and you can see them.
A purple retro belt also made its way into my bag (: Jocelyn didn't manage to get anything thought (she's picky). I tried to find presents for leticia/aunt sally, but failed to do so. Ate at Kenny Rogers Roasters (<3 macaroni and cheese!) The food came late, and as a result, Jo and I were late for my aunt's church musical.
We arrived at around 8.20pm, and stayed til around 10. It was great! Much better than the rehearsals. The only glitch was that we were seated in the circle seats, which were illuminated with fluorescent lighting (the BB band had to see their scores), so the atmosphere was a little muted.
